Session Description:
Audit and compliance professionals have used data analytics, sometimes referred to as continuous auditing, as a method to monitor internal controls and identify fraud. While data analytics is not new, many organizations haven’t considered the governance, compliance or fraud-fighting benefits it can bring to the organization. What, really, is data analytics? What types of data can be analyzed? Most importantly, what information does it provide management, and how does it help manage risk to the organization? Whether you’ve never heard of data analytics or are trying to decide how it might fit in your organization, this overview will provide attendees with the answers to these and other basic questions and allow you to evaluate its role in your organization.
