Owner and President, The Davis Group

Stan Davis is the owner and president of The Davis Group. The Davis Group provides a full range of diversity, equity and inclusion related services to help companies, organizations and educational institutions to recruit, retain, train and develop a diverse and productive workforce. TDG also focuses on strategic planning and actively assists clients in the execution and implementation of their equity and inclusion plans to best serve ALL of their customers, employees and students.

Stan graduated from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse. After college, he taught high school in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and worked in the Washington, D.C. offices of U.S. Rep. Bruce Vento (MN) and U.S. Senator Paul Wellstone (MN). After graduating from George Washington University Law School in 1998, Stan served as an Assistant Attorney General in the civil litigation unit of the Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ).

In 2003, Stan was appointed to serve as Deputy Chief of Staff and Chief Legal Counsel to Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle. Stan is a former member of boards of the Urban League of Greater Madison, Charles Hamilton Houston Institute and Madison Children’s Museum Boards of Directors. Stan currently serves on the boards of, Boys and Girls Club of Dane County and 1800 Days.

Stan has served on the UW System Board of Regents and the Wisconsin State Technical College System Board. In those roles, he was directly involved in running the two largest educational institutions in Wisconsin. Stan was on the faculty of UW Law School from 2006 through 2016 and taught in the doctoral program for higher education leadership in the School of Education at Edgewood College from 2011 through 2016.
